《新型建筑材料》杂志创刊于1974年，由中国新型建材设计研究院主办、中国建筑材料科学研究总院主管，是原国家科委批准国内外公开发行的国家级建筑材料类期刊，为中国科技核心期刊、全国中文核心期刊（2017年版）、RCCSE中国核心学术期刊、中国科技论文统计源期刊、全国建材优秀期刊、中国期刊方阵“双效期刊”、华东地区优秀期刊、浙江省自然科学优秀期刊、《中国学术期刊影响因子年报(自然科学与工程技术版)》Q1区，《世界期刊影响力指数(WJCI)报告》Q3区，建筑科学领域高质量科技期刊分级目录、无机非金属材料领域高质量科技期刊分级目录。被万方、知网、维普、超星、美国EBSCO、德国建筑等数据库全文收录。

    《新型建筑材料》定位于新材料、新技术、新工艺、新设备的研发及推广，与节能减排、低碳经济、“三废”处理等国家大政方针紧密结合，围绕建材行业重大关键技术、社会关注热点问题，报道具有学术高度和应用价值的综合性成果，为建材行业解决热点难点问题、推动建材行业的发展和科技成果转化、提升文化自信发挥重要作用。
